Do It Yourself: Windshield Winterization

November 9, 2011

What is the number one defense keeping you safe on the road? Your eyes. Jeepers. Make sure those peepers can see the road. Remember the freak snow storm from last winter causing gridlock and dangerous driving conditions?

Aside from making sure that your vehicle is running properly, making sure the driver has clear visibility is the easiest thing you can do to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your vehicle. According to the Ohio BMV, Ohio had more than 12 million registered vehicles on the roads in 2010. Improved visibility will increase the amount of time a driver has to react to dangers on the road – and with so many cars out there good visibility is essential.

So, what can you do to increase your visibility?

There are a number of products on the market to treat your windshield and windows, but we at Rad Air recommend Rain-X products. Here are a few to try:

• Rain-X Original Glass Treatment.

This treatment is applied to the exterior of windows and windshields to repel snow, sleet, and rain without streaking.

• Rain-X De-Icer.

Park outside? Simply turn on your vehicle, wipers and the defroster, then spray the windshield with this treatment to melt ice and save you time.

• Rain-X Anti-Fog Wipes.

Keep these in your glovebox and wipe on interior glass surfaces to reduce fog.

Don’t let the harsh winter weather keep you from travelling safely this year. These inexpensive treatments can save you from misfortune in the future!
